Half Blood Prince [Jul. 19th, 2005|03:32 pm]
[mood | morose]

Well, it took me four days, but I finally finished the book. I probably would have been done with it on Saturday or Sunday, but we were on vacation and it was a little hard to find reading time.

Half Blood Prince can easily be considered one of my favorites just as Order of the Phoenix is, even though great tragedies occured in both of them involving some of my favorite characters.

Has anyone else finished the book yet? It would be interesting to hear some other readers' reactions...

[mood | bored]
[music |Honkytonk U by Toby Keith]

I got my permit yesterday!!! Yay!!!

Summer vacation is boring. I have nothing to do. There is nothing to eat in this house. I'm bored and starving.

I am going to die this summer!

hmmm... [Jun. 10th, 2005|10:00 pm]
[mood | hyper]
[music |She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy by Kenny Chesney]

school is oficially over now, except for finals. and just my luck: for my english final, my proctor is my english teacher. i can't stand her. nobody can, really. but our lucky class got stuck with her. go figure.

finals schedule:
monday, june 13- 7:40 am- English
9:50 am-Geometry

tuesday, june 14- 9:50 am- Biology

wednesday, june 15- 7:40 am- American History

school was so sad today... it's weird, i know, i hated this year but somehow i'm going to miss everyone... especially next year when i know i'm going to get teachers that actually teach and make you do work...... *sigh*

anyway, last night my softball team lost. we're out of june madness. it sucks. i wanted to go all the way this year again. get another trophy, maybe. but, no. my last season of rec softball and we are first to be eliminated. yay.

and on top of that, i dove for the ball and twisted my bad knee. after that i had to wear the brace for it. i'm supposed to wear it all the time, really, but i don't like not being able to bend my knee easily. i'm weird. i'd prefer it to give out on me at random moments and to pop and crack constantly, just so i can move it...

what else is there....? oh yeah, i'm going with the varisty bus tomorrow to watch the varsity softball team play in the states championship at toms river. they are doing so great this year!

and i thought my last update was long.... lol

what a day... [Jun. 4th, 2005|09:20 pm]
[mood | blank]
[music |typical by kevin sharp]

my parents forced me to go to the hungarian festival with them today. so i had to eat food i don't like. on the bright side, i did get to leave in the middle of the day to see the longest yard. if you get a chance, go see it. it's a great movie. i loved the caretaker... but i'm not saying anymore. go see it.

there's a dead bird in our driveway. my mom says a cat or something probably killed it, but i think it looks like it croaked while it was sitting on the fence and then it fell off... either way it is grossing me out because something ate its eyes out. ewww...

my brother's summer reading list came in the mail today. we're still waiting on mine, but when my mom went out for my brother's book, she got me the first two "sisterhood of the traveling pants" books. i like paperback better than hardcover because it is easier to carry, so she didn't get me the third yet. i'm waiting on that in paperback and the princess diaries 5 and 6 in paperback. i don't understand why they can't just release everything in paperback when the hardcover comes out...

this was long, wasn't it?

(no subject) [Jun. 2nd, 2005|07:39 pm]

[music |Underneath the Same Moon by Blake Shelton]

JPS Lady Hawks Softball team- Sectional Champions!!!!! They won 1-0 today. Gotta love Jackie's triple to the center field fence-- 205 feet!!!!! Those Rocketech bats are great... I bet I could do a lot of damage if I had one, but I really like my bat... We've hit so many doubles together, a few triples, a couple home runs, mostly singles... and this year we finally acomplished a goal- to get a bunt down in a game!!! (That's something we did a lot this year... ever since that game we played at Edison... but it was fun...) Next year we learn how to slap!

I'm determined to write some kind of fan fiction and get it on the internet this summer, but the more I read, the less I like how I write and the more I think I'm going to get laughed at when I do put something up on a site... I have confidence problems...

Three Day Weekend [May. 30th, 2005|04:00 pm]
[mood | annoyed]
[music |Wade Hayes- Up North (Down South, Back East, Out West)]

We spent this weekend moving our furniture into storage. I missed the varsity game on Saturday. Now my room is empty, save for a huge pile of boxes, and my bed is an air mattress on the floor. I think I pulled something in the back of my left leg, too. I'm too small to be lifting furniture that's twice my size.

GAME 1: @PISCATAWAY [Apr. 1st, 2005|07:44 pm]
[mood | tired]
[music |KEVIN SHARP--SHE JUST HAS TO BE MINE]

FIRST GAME OF THE SOFTBALL SEASON THIS AFTERNOON AT PISCATAWAY. WE WON 17-2. SO I THINK WE'RE OFF TO A PRETTY GOOD START.

LAST YEAR WE WENT 21 AND 1. 21 WINS AND 1 LOSS. AND THEY TOOK US OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT BECAUSE WE WERE "TOO GOOD". HOW ARE YOU "TOO GOOD" FOR A TOURNAMENT? WE COULD'VE WON...

I SLID 2 TIMES TODAY. LET'S SEE IF WE CAN KEEP A COUNT THIS YEAR. I'M JUST CURIOUS TO KNOW THE NUMBERS. SHOULD BE INTERESTING.

MISS CONGENIALITY 2: ARMED AND FABULOUS [Mar. 28th, 2005|04:37 pm]
[mood | bouncy]
[music |ASHES BY NOW- LEE ANN WOMACK]

ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON I SAW THE SEQUEL TO MISS CONGENIALITY, MISS CONGENIALITY 2: ARMED AND FABULOUS. I HAVE TO ADMIT, WHEN I FIRST SAW ADVERTISEMENTS FOR THIS MOVIE, I DIDN'T THINK IT COULD POSSIBLY LIVE UP TO THE ORIGINAL. BUT I WAS SURPRISED. THIS WAS A RARE OCCASION, SEEING A SEQUEL THAT COULD LIVE UP TO THE FAN BASE'S EXPECTATIONS.

SANDRA BULLOCK DID SAY, THOUGH, THAT SHE WASN'T GOING TO DO A MISS CONGENIALITY SEQUEL UNLESS IT COULD BE A GOOD ONE. SHE DIDN'T WANT MISS CONGENIALITY 2 TO BE TO MISS CONGENIALITY WHAT SPEED 2 WAS TO SPEED. A FAILURE AND AN EMBARRASSMENT.

MISS CONGENIALITY 2 BROUGHT IN SOME NEW CHARACTERS, BUT IT WAS DONE IN A NATURAL MANNER. THERE WERE STILL OLD CHARACTERS AND REFERENCES TO SOME OF THE OLD ONES THAT WEREN'T SEEN. THE NEW CHARACTERS CAME IN UNDER REAL CIRCUMSTANCES. THEY WEREN'T JUST PRESENTED TO US IN A "HERE IS A NEW CHARACTER. WE HAVE NO REASON FOR HIM TO BE HERE. JUST DEAL WITH IT." MANNER.

I LIKED THE REFERENCES TO THE ORIGINAL MOVIE. THEY WEREN'T OVERDONE. THERE WERE JUST ENOUGH FOR A VIEWER TO REALIZE THAT THIS ISN'T A STANDALONE MOVIE (EVEN THOUGH IT COULD HAVE BEEN). IT ACTUALLY CAME FROM SOMEWHERE AND THE CHARACTERS HAVE A PAST THAT WE KNOW ABOUT.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD HAVE CHANGED? I WOULD HAVE BENJAMIN BRATT BACK. EVEN IF HE COULDN'T GO ON THE MISSION WITH GRACIE. HE AND GRACIE SHOULD HAVE STAYED TOGETHER. THEY SEEMED SO GREAT TOGETHER.

I DIDN'T LIKE TREAT WILLIAMS' CHARACTER. HE WAS A NASTY MAN IN THIS MOVIE. BUT IT WAS A SURPRISE TO SEE HIM. THAT WAS SOMETHING I NEVER SAW COMING. OH YEAH AND THE BLOND FROM WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU WAS IN THIS MOVIE, TOO.

SO, GO SEE MISS CONGENIALITY 2! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
